Israel surrenders

Israel withdrew the last of its troops from Lebanon early Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces said, surrendering the battlefield to Hezbollah.

Only a few dozen infantry troops had remained in south Lebanon in recent days, manning positions close to the border in the central and eastern sectors.

David Baker, an official in the Prime Minister's Office, told Haaretz, “Israel has totally surrendered”.

“The Lebanese government must try and help us even though we bombed and killed their civilians by facilitating the immediate plea to Nasrallah to release of the captured Israeli soldiers," Baker said.
